What’s the real secret of meditation? What happens when we seat, close the eyes and follow the lure of the breath? Magic happens.
Meditation is an intimate and deep conversation with ourselves.
It allows us to be with ourselves and engage fully with our feelings and mental state. During the last 8 years meditation has taught me how to remain with myself, my feeling and my thoughts with presence, without running away.
A misconception about meditation is that our goal is not to have thoughts – but it’s quite the opposite. Meditating in Corpo Giardino means that we welcome thoughts, emotions and feelings but then, we let them pass and and travel in our body.
In this way, we can process and transform our mental, emotional and physical state.
The Yoga practice touches every aspect of our Life, it doesn’t stop on the mat.
The Off the mat tools, like journaling or the practice specific exercises, help us to become aware of our behaviours and patterns. Only when we are aware of something, we can begin a beautiful journey of Transformation. Shifting from what it doesn’t work anymore to what it does, as Larry Schultz (founder of It’s Yoga) used to say.
We can have all the knowledge we want about poses and techniques – but if the mindset is still stuck we can’t really enjoy the benefits of a yoga practice also outside our yoga mat!
